Welcome to the 2020 Texas Transition Conference! This year’s event is being held atWyndham San Antonio Riverwalk, located on 111 E. Pecan Street. Click here to access the conference survey.
Registration: Visit the third floor to check in for the conference.
Parking: The self-service parking garage is immediately to the northwest of the hotel, on the corner of Soledad and Martin. For those staying at the Wyndham, the reduced parking rate will be added to your bill. Your hotel key will give you in/out privileges. If you are not staying at the hotel, but parking at Wyndham, you should pay for parking at the front desk (identifying yourself as Texas Transition participant) and you will get a key card needed to exit the garage. You can purchase a parking card for multiple days.
Participants will explore the College and Career Competency Framework through focusing on one of three competencies (i.e., self-regulation, assertiveness and self-efficacy) for selfassessment, building knowledge and brainstorming instruction. Aligned with the CASEL indicators and SEL Standards, these competencies can be explicitly taught, practiced and reinforced in every classroom, Pre-K through 12 to promote social emotional growth. Participants will complete a set of small group activities where they reflect on current practice, review SEL curriculum parts, learn foundational concepts, and view examples of instructional practices in various classroom settings. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of how readily available supports and online professional development can be utilized for developing SEL in daily practices.
