Registration: Visit the third floor to check in for the conference.
Parking: The self-service parking garage is immediately to the northwest of the hotel, on the corner of Soledad and Martin. For those staying at the Wyndham, the reduced parking rate will be added to your bill. Your hotel key will give you in/out privileges. If you are not staying at the hotel, but parking at Wyndham, you should pay for parking at the front desk (identifying yourself as Texas Transition participant) and you will get a key card needed to exit the garage. You can purchase a parking card for multiple days.
This presentation will outline the process used by the East Williamson County Cooperative/Georgetown ISD districts to implement student-directed ARD meetings. Session will include information on the Self-Determination Learning Model of Instruction and feedback from students/parents after experiencing student-directed ARD meetings for the first time. Teacher and para-educator will review their process for empowering students to create a PowerPoint used to lead the ARD, which includes the draft transition plan. Accommodations for students with various communication needs will be addressed. Attendees will receive a PowerPoint template for student-directed ARD meetings, which can be utilized in their home districts.
